Expressions Of Interest Welcomed By Tipperary County Council To The Community Recognition Fund

Tipperary County Council is inviting expressions of interest to the newly established Community Recognition Fund. The Fund aims to support communities such as Dundrum, Fethard, Templemore, Littleton, Thurles, Clonmel –  communities that have a high number of refugees from Ukraine or asylum seekers under the International Protection Programme living in the locality. Tipperary County Council have been awarded €998,000 under this fund.  

The council will hold a webinar to explain the scheme on February 13th at 6.30pm and will accept expression of interest until February 22nd. The proposed project or equipment purchases will need to be completed by 18th October 2024 and the final report and grant draw down completed by  1st November 2024. Projects to be funded will be capital in nature – including walk or play facilities, enhancements to local sports clubs, parish facilities, equipment for music or arts or sport, transport vehicles or bus shelters. The intention is to expand local facilities that may be facing extra demand due to the increased local population.
