Tipp GAA Issue Statement Following Racial Comment During Challenge Match

1172

Tipperary GAA are condoning the racial comments directed at a Wexford player by an individual in the stand during a senior hurling challenge match today.

The match hosted by Carrick Swans was to raise funds for Ryan O’Dwyer, from Ballyrichard who suffered severe spinal injuries in a car accident last year and is now paralysed from the chest down.

The local county board wish to state quiet clearly that this kind of behaviour is totally unacceptable and has absolutely no place at our games or in our society.

The statement also makes clear the member of the public is not connected to either Tipperary GAA or the Carrick Swans.

The incident is to be fully investigated.
