The government is encouraging retailers in Tipperary to apply for funding to enhance their online presence and increase online sales.

Retailers can access up to €25,000 under  the Online Retail Scheme, funded by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment  to strengthen their ecommerce capabilities.

Since 2018, the Online Retail Scheme has allocated over €28m in funding supporting more than 700 projects from Irish retailers.

Businesses who have participated in the Scheme have reported increased sales, in Ireland and abroad, new employees and an enhanced digital skill set among their current employees.

The Online Retail Scheme is now open for applications and closes on 3 May. The applicant must be an Irish based enterprise that has 10 or more full-time employees.

Full details can be found here.

For smaller retailers (those with 10 or less employees) looking to develop their online presence, the Local Enterprise Offices offer the Trading Online Voucher scheme (TOVS).

This scheme provides businesses with a voucher for €2,500 to help them to develop their ecommerce capabilities and includes training in digital marketing and social media. Tipperary Local Enterprise office can be contacted here.
