Government Launches €10M Community Group Energy Scheme

€10M is to be made available to help community and voluntary groups with energy costs.

Successful applicants will be paid as early as the end of the year.

The new Scheme will be known as the Community and Voluntary Energy Support Scheme (CVESS) and will open for applications on November 21st.

The scheme will provide once-off support to organisations within the Community and Voluntary sector which fall outside the parameters of other energy support schemes being delivered by Government such as the Temporary Business Energy Support Scheme (TBESS).

The scheme will close for applications on Friday 2nd December 2022.

It is expected that payments under the scheme will commence before the end of this year and into early 2023.

The Scheme is being delivered by Pobal on behalf of the Department of Rural and Community Development.
