The developer involved in a solar farm planning application for lands close to Dualla village has been asked to respond to a number of issues by Tipperary Planning Authority. The application on behalf of Power Renewable Energy involving over 129  hectares of land is facing strong opposition from local residents and in addition Uisce Eireann, the Heritage Council, An Taisce and HSE Environmental Health  have raised concerns. The applicant now has 6 months to respond to the request for further information issued by the planning Authority

The developer does not own the land involved in the project but has the consent of four different land owners for the project. The planning office has concerns about sightlines at entrances, the need for land for village growth in the future, negative visual impacts on 3 residential properties, impact on biodiversity and habits for bats and badgers, archaeological concerns especially on an area of Mount O’Meara and close to 4 national monuments. The planning application reference number is 2460156
