Tipperary Vintage Rally Group Present South Tipperary Hospice Cheque For €5,380.96

The Tipperary Vintage Rally group made a further presentation to the South Tipperary Hospice over the weekend –  this time for a sum of €5,380.96.  The contribution brings the total raised by the group over 15 years to slightly more than €250,000.  The cheque was presented by Treasurer Rosie Finnan.  South Tipp Hospice Board members John O’ Heney and Sean O’Donovan alongside Sinaida Jansaen, the Manager at the ST Hospice, accepted the cheque. The presentation event was held at the Tipperary Community Services Centre, St Michael’s Street, and was well attended with Tipperary TDs Mattie McGrath, Martin Browne and Jackie Cahill present on Friday night in addition to Cllr Roger Kennedy, Cathaoirleach of Tipperary County Council and Cllr Anne Marie Ryan and Cllr Mary Hanna Hourigan.

Sgt. John Kingston was also thanked for the contribution that An Garda Siochana make to Tipperary Vintage Rally events from visits to schools and Santa trips around Tipperary. The Vintage Group thanked all who donated and enabled their events throughout the years – Chairperson Jack Leonard told those gathered that nothing can be done without the people who generously give their time and support.

In the coming weeks the group will also hold an event in support of the CJ Kickham Band & Tipperary Irish Red Cross on February 19th (contact Pat 089 408 6383).

At Easter Weekend in April the main rally event and run will be held – this is the major fundraising event for 2023. The Group are also hopeful that a donation will follow the Tipperary Town Festival scheduled for May 11th – 14th.

Tipperary Vintage Rally group say the contribution of the Tipperary Plaza is invaluable in enabling their events to take place especially the Easter Rally on April 9th. Padraig Naughton representing The Plaza paid tribute to Tipperary Vintage Rally Group saying their work over 15 years is a testament to their commitment and ability.

The Tipperary Vintage Rally group was formed in 2008 by Jack Leonard, Eddie Spencer and Steve Thornton the group is for anyone interested in Cars, Bikes, Trucks, Tractors, and Stationary Engines.

The group has supported The Red Cross, The Circle of Friends and the Irish Heart Foundation in the past but focuses on supporting the work of the South Tipperary Hospice which provides an entirely home based package of support for those needing end of live care with a Nursing Team led by Aisling Fanning.
