Ireland Qualify For Saturday Nights Eurovision Song Contest Final

The Eurovision Song contest final is to be staged in Malmo, Sweden on Saturday night.

Ireland have qualified for the final for the first time since 2018 with artist Bambi Thug proving hugely popular with European audiences for their song Doomsday Blue. Ireland will be tenth to perform in the final which has 26 songs for consideration.  

The contest has faced controversy  for allowing Israel to participle due to the ongoing violence in Gaza. While pundits favour Croatia to emerge as winner both Israel and Ireland are ranking in the top five most likely to win alongside Switzerland and France.  TV coverage begins at 8pm.
