Tipperary County Council advise that the works on the Cashel Road Project(N74) Tipperary town will begin this morning – the first element to be completed over the next four weeks is drainage installation at the rear of properties on Sean Allen Terrace.   While these works are ongoing, the lane will be closed off, however access to the laneway will be provided if required as the works progress in consultation with the Contractor.  At a later date the lane will be re-surfaced as part of the overall N74 road project(1,250metres) which extends from the town limits the Cashel side  to the Danny Ryan Music Shop in Bank Place.

The Council says it is awaiting a proposal for temporary traffic management from the contractor for the N74 element of the scheme works. Glas Civil Engineering based in Clonmel have established a site office and equipment compound adjacent to the Irish Wheelchair Facility and St Michael’s Graveyard and drivers should use caution in the area.

The project which has a total cost of over €5M will have a dedicated website for all information – this is available at N74tipperarytown.ie.  A telephone number for queries is available – 087 398 3546  – this will also be monitored out of hours.
