Tipperary Cahir Cashel MD has 845 approved applicants on it’s housing list as of November 2022. The District has 17 vacant houses at present and of these only 6 are available for allocation. 10 are deemed to need minor repairs and 1 needs major repairs.
The council also has a number of social housing schemes at planning or construction stage and these are expected to deliver 91 new houses by the end of 2024. Earlier this year 28 newly constructed houses were allocated in Tipperary town.
In addition, there are also 146 homes in the pipeline for delivery by Approved Housing Bodies such as the Moorehaven Centre, St Patrick’s Dwellings for the Elderly(SPADE), Belmont Housing Association, Tuath Housing Association, Respond and the Fr Peter McVerry Trust. It is expected that 128 of these new homes will be allocated towards the social housing list. These new homes are all due to be completed by the end of 2024 at the latest.
The above mentioned houses are being delivered in Tipperary Town, Cahir, Cashel, Bansha, Donohill and Ardfinnan.
