Emergency services attended an incident in Thurles shortly after noon today.

A female pedestrian escaped injury after falling under an articulated truck.

The incident happened at the top of the square as traffic enters from Parnell Street and merges with traffic coming from Friar street and Liberty square.

It is the second incident on the square in recent weeks as a cyclist escaped injury two weeks ago after also becoming engaged with a HGV.

Two National roads converge in Liberty Square the N62 and the N75 resulting in a huge number of HGV’s passing through the Thurles town centre every day.
