Tipp Hills Enhancement Works Due To Be Completed Before Christmas

1269

Enhancement works at the Tipperary Hills area of Tipperary town are due for completion before Christmas.  The project management team says there is some planting yet to be done and the final snagging inspection. The pathways have been widened and made more accessible by changing the slope and by adding steps in some places. The entrance from the old Monastery road near the pitch and putt has been upgraded in recent works to include a set of 30 staggered steps. All of the new seating has now been installed.

The form of the Peace Path has been revised through consultation with The Peace Convention and Tipperary County Council and will now be delivered by installing 5 large A1 size signs

(to match existing information signs on the site) with an explanation of the award and all recipients’ names displayed. The boards will be spaced evenly and located along the stretch of path between Bohercrowe Road entrance and the refurbished Kickabout area. Pollinator friendly planting will be added at the base of each sign – this project is running in parallel with the Tipperary Hills Improvement Works.

The Tipperary Hills Project  has an overall cost of approximately € 630,000 comprising  €500,000 from the Government’s Town and Village Renewal Scheme and the balance from Tipperary County Council.
