The Tipperary Joint Policing Committee(JPC)is to meet in Tipperary town on Friday May 17th.

This may be the last meeting of the committee as the Department of Justice is to replace the existing JPC with a new Local Community Safety Partnership which will not automatically have a Councillor as Chairperson.

Some concerns has been expressed about the structure and implementation of the new Partnerships.

Councillors say there may be a time delay also in putting the new structure in place in each community as to date only three pilot partnerships have been operating – located in Waterford City, Longford and Dublin North Inner City Area.

Full details are available here.

The meeting in the Tipperary Council office on Rosanna Road, Tipperary will receive presentations on Domestic Abuse, Drug Related Intimidation, Substance Misuse and data on the levels and patterns of crime, disorder, and anti-social behaviour in Tipperary.

Garda will also give an update on Property Marking Services available to the community and an update on the provision of CCTV systems.

The public can attend the meeting or watch online but cannot speak at the meeting which begins at 10am.
