An animal welfare group is looking for hen adoptees in the Premier County.
Little Hill Animal Rescue works with farmers to collect and re-home hens who are not deemed commercially viable.
Susan Anderson says adoptees will be giving these hens a new lease of life and ultimately saving them from going to the slaughter-house.
Ms Anderson says the group will have collections points on Saturday in Limerick and Nenagh.
