Government ministers were in Co. Tipperary today announcing a €35 million investment in two new dairy innovation investments.

€25 million is to be invested in what is termed as a Dairy Processing Technology Centre.  This will comprise a number of dairy businesses and creameries including Arrabawn Co-op and Tipperary Co-op.  The resources of all the companies involved will be pooled together to develop new technologies that will support the growth of the dairy industry.
Also confirmed at today’s event, which took place at Nenagh’s Arrabawn Co-op is a €10 million investment by Teagasc in the Moorepark Technology centre in Fermoy.  The money will be used to expand and modernise the facility which tests new dairy processing techniques and products.
Speaking to Tipp Mid West today, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton said that it is a five-year plan.
