A multi-agency check point was in operation on the M8 near Cashel last evening. Transport Infrastructure Ireland set up the area for Garda, Revenue, The Health and Safety Authority and the RSA to carry out inspections. The Garda Roads Policing unit fund two uninsured drivers and their vehicles were seized. The drivers will now face future court dates.
On April 19th Garda detected a vehicle travelling at 107km/hr per the M8. The van was pulling a trailer which should have been observing a speed limit of 80km/hr. Garda are encouraging drivers to know the applicable limits if driving a restricted vehicle.
