Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien To Open Newport Town Park

The Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien is to visit Newport on Monday to officially open Newport town Park.

The project was partly funded through the Limerick Hinterland Fund from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage with the balance of funding provided by Tipperary County Council. Tipperary Cathaoirleach Cllr Ger Darcy and several local councillors are also expected to attend.

The park has been in use since 2022 and offers wide range of amenities including children’s playground, toilets, bandstand, seating, picnic tables, sensory garden, flood lit astro turf area, BMX track, a fitness circuit, a zip wire and extensive planting. The park covers an area of approximately 9 acres and cost €2.9M to deliver.

The event is to begin at 11am in the Park.
