Public Input Wanted On Draft Local Authority Climate Action Plan (LACAP)

Tipperary County Council is seeking public input on a Draft Local Authority Climate Action Plan (LACAP) for the period 2024 – 2029.  The Draft LACAP sets out how Tipperary County Council can support the Government’s overall National Climate Objective to achieve, by no later than the end of 2050, a transition to a climate resilient, biodiversity rich, environmentally sustainable and climate neutral economy.

Cathaoirleach of Tipperary County Council, Councillor Ger Darcy says the Draft LACAP is a positive development and addresses biodiversity, education and learning, the BioEconomy, energy efficiency, sustainable transport patterns and technologies and co-benefits as a result of climate action.

Full details of the Draft LACAP and the facility to make a submission will be available on the consultations portal on the Council website at tipperarycoco.ie  from tomorrow until the 6th of November 2023.

The documents are also available to view at the 5 council offices and in the libraries in Clonmel, Nenagh, Thurles, Carrick on Suir and Tipperary town. 

Information events will be held in the libraries as follows – the Source, Thurles October 17th,  Nenagh 18th, Clonmel 19th, Tipperary town October 24th and in Carrick on Suir on October 25th.  The drop in information sessions are all scheduled for 3.30pm to 5.30pm.
