News is emerging across the county in respect of events planned for St Patricks Day.

TMWR can confirm that to date plans are underway for a parade in Cahir starting at noon with a Feel Good Factor Theme.

Cahir organisers say this year above any other year we need all groups in the locality to get involved including the hinterland of Cahir – the call is for all to participate to help bring the buzz back into our lives.

Clonmel hopes to have a parade and this may involve visitors from it’s twin town partners.

Carrick on Suir will also hold a physical parade while Thurles has confirmed a virtual parade managed in collaboration between the St Patrick’s Day Parade committee and Crutaigh – who last year delivered a superb virtual event.

Cashel is planning a static event for the Plaza in the town Centre.

The event is provisionally called “St. Patrick on the Plaza”.  And the organising committee led by Sean Laffey says they are interested in anyone who would like to perform, busk or set up a market stall.

Market traders MUST have full insurance and register with their details BEFORE they arrive so that the committee can arrange trading licenses for them.

The event has to finalise insurance issues but is provisionally planned for the time frame 2pm to 8pm. with a possibility of extending to the 18th dependent on performer participation.

The event will also have to be timed with road closures in mind and have to work around the Airport Coach service from Cork to Dublin.
