Lowry makes case for safe return of greyhound racing

Independent TD Michael Lowry has urged the Minister for Agriculture to lift restrictions on greyhound racing.

Deputy Lowry told the Agriculture Minister during a questions and answers session in the Dáil that all the protocols and procedures are in place for what he said that the ‘safe re-opening of Ireland’s greyhound tracks’.

He called on the minister to move the issue forward in consultation with the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) ‘as soon as possible’.

Minister Creed told the Tipperary TD that his department is engaged with the sector and he will update him on any further developments.
