A family near Cashel have developed a huge Sunflower field to support charity. €38,000 was raised in donations in 2021 for Irish Cancer Society and Cappagh Orthopaedic Hospital.

This year a field of 2.5 acres of magnificent sunflowers are promptly approaching

full bloom and from Saturday, people will have the chance to visit the field to see the beautiful  sunflowers, have an opportunity to take a picture, enjoy the flowers and of course pick a  couple of sunflowers to take home with them.

This year’s chosen charities are the Irish Cancer Society and South Tipperary Hospice, with a donation going to the Irish Red Cross’ Ukrainian Crisis Appeal

The Laffan family are encouraging people to follow their progress on their  Facebook page at KingstownFarmSunflowers

Visitors to the farm are advised to wear sensible footwear and bring along garden shears/scissors to cut some flowers. Local Councillor Declan Burgess is encouraging people to visit the floral attraction and to support the chosen charities.

The sunflower field is open this Saturday the 13th until further notice. Opening hours are 12 – 7pm  – Eircode  E25NY32 .  Donations can be taken on the gate or through the online donation link. https://www.idonate.ie/KingstownFarmSunflowers
