77 people with Covid-19 have today been confirmed to have died.
The latest figures brings the total number of Covid-19 related deaths to 687.
While the number of deaths announced today is the highest for any one day, the National Public Health Emergency Team has noted that they did not all occur in the last 24 hours.
401 new cases have also been reported to the National Public Health Emergency Team – a reduction on recent days. It brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in Ireland to 15,652.
The total number of cases in Co Tipperary, as of Saturday, April 18th was 300. For Limerick the figure was 401.
