Uisce Éireann and Tipperary County Council are reminding customers supplied by Fethard Regional Public Water Supply that the Boil Water Notice (BWN) issued on 24 December remains in place. The BWN was issued to protect the health of approximately 6,700 customers. This is necessary due to issues at the Fethard Regional Water Treatment Plant, affecting the treatment and disinfection process.

Areas impacted include Cloneen, Mullinahone, Drangan, Killenaule, Moyglass, Ballinure, Ballynonty, Glengoole, Gortnahoe and surrounding areas. Customers can check if their property is included by visiting the Water Quality section of www.water.ie and entering the property’s Eircode or by calling the Uisce Éireann customer care helpline, open 24/7, on 1800 278 278.

Fethard town area is not under this Boil Water Notice as it is supplied from an adjacent supply.

Uisce Eireann says work is ongoing to rectify the issues at the water treatment plant with a view to lifting the notice as quickly and as safely as possible.

In the meantime, all customers on this supply are advised to boil their water before use until further notice.
