Traffic on the Dublin-Cork motorway was brought to a halt after flooding closed the road in both directions between J12 (Mitchelstown North) and J11 (Cahir South).
A Met Eireann Yellow Warning for rain was issued on Monday for 15 counties including Tipperary with heavy rain forecasted and local flooding. Initially, the northbound carriageway was closed and this was followed by the southbound side to allow works vehicles to access the flooded area.
