An application has been lodged under the Regional Enterprise Fund to upgrade the Tipperary Technology Park building in Tipp town.
This was confirmed by the Director of Services for Economic Development and Enterprise with Tipperary County Council, Pat Slattery at the launch of Jobs4Tipp’s Tipp Digital Hub last night.
The purpose of the application is to enable the Tipperary Technology Park to give smaller businesses the opportunity to enter the circle of companies that provide services for some of the largest multinationals in the region.
This would be done by digitally linking the Tipperary premises with the ENGINE Innovation Centre in Limerick, which provides solutions for entrepreneurs, start-ups and businesses.
Through this network, the ENGINE in Limerick would, in turn, also become a service provider for the small business that would use the facilities at Tipperary Technology Park.
Speaking to Tipp Mid West last night, Pat Slattery said that the €600,000 application is part of a wider effort to get smaller local companies connected to the region’s larger ones.
