Tipperary Plan Now In Place For Longer Than Anticipated

The merger of the two Tipperary county councils and the abolition of the town councils has resulted in a delay in putting together a new Tipperary Town Development Plan.

Recently there have been calls for the town development plan to be revisited due to instances in which businesses have had to base themselves elsewhere because of the planning restrictions in certain areas of the town.

At yesterday’s meeting of the Tipperary Cashel Municipal District, the head of the planning department at the council confirmed that the Town Development Plan will not be revised until 2020, a date later than originally planned.

Commenting this morning, Cllr. Roger Kennedy said that the news is disappointing.
