Invitations For Submissions On Plans For New Pedestrian Crossing & Traffic Calming Measures In Thurles

Tipperary county council is inviting submissions on plans for traffic calming and a new pedestrian crossing on Abbey Road, Thurles to improve pedestrian linkage with Thurles Railway station. The works will take place in the area around the Thurles Railway Station entrance and Bohernanave Road Junction onto the Abbey road (R660).

Works include a new pedestrian crossing on the western side of the Railway Station entrance, tightening of the Bohernanave Road junction and installation of wider footpaths.

Drawings of the proposed works are available for inspection from Wednesday 28th February 2024 to Wednesday 03rd April 2024 inclusive on the Tipperary County Council’s website and at Thurles Municipal District Office, Castle Avenue, Thurles.

Submissions regarding the proposal must be made before 4.30pm on Wednesday 17th April 2024.

The work is being authorised under a Section 38 notice and will not require a formal vote at the Municipal District for approval.
