Thurles based Fianna Fáil TD Jackie Cahill and a delegation from Thurles met with Minister for State at the Department of Transport, Jack Chambers to discuss the progression of the Thurles town bypass.

The delegation included Jackie Cahill TD, Cllr Seamus Hanafin, Cllr Jim Ryan, Pat Hayes, Kieran Linnane, John Butler Thurles Chamber, and John Nolan, Senior Roads Engineer with Tipperary County Council.

The meeting was held to discuss the inclusion of the Thurles Bypass in the next review of the National Development Plan(NDP). Deputy Cahill says the By Pass is essential for Thurles for both road safety and commercial reasons.

Minister Chambers committed to working very closely with Thurles during the National Development Plan review in 2025 in an attempt to secure the inclusion of the Thurles Bypass in the NDP. Projects will not be allocated funding unless they are included in the NDP.
