Deputy Michael Lowry is welcoming news that an MRI service is now available in Thurles at the HSE Primary Care Centre on Mitchel Street.
The state of the art facility offers a wide range of services. A contract with Alliance Medical is in place for a team of staff to read the MRI scans. The facility is available to GPs, qualified Physiotherapists and referrals relating to Spinal, Orthopaedic, Neurological and Sport injuries.
Tipperary University Hospital in Clonmel has a new MRI machine in operation so the service in Thurles is an expansion of services for the county. The Primary Care Centre officially opened in Thurles in 2022 and offers a wide range of services including accommodating the Shannon Doc Out of Hours service.
