Garda in Tipperary have seized a number of vehicles following alerts to the new Integrated Traffic App Garda are now using. The device provides Garda with real time data to detect if the vehicle has insurance. Vehicles have been seized in Thurles, Roscrea and Nenagh by the Tipperary Roads Policing unit over the last two days.
One of the drivers was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a positive drug wipe test at the roadside for cocaine and cannabis – another implementation of technology to give Garda support while on patrol.
All of the drivers involved will now face traffic offence charges in court.
