Cllr Coonan Will Not Contest Local Elections 2024

 Councillor Noel Coonan is not going to contest the 2024 Local Elections.

The Fine Gael Councillor was first elected in 1991 and also served as Senator and two terms as TD for North Tipperary, elected in 2011 and in 2016.

Mr Coonan, from Clonmore is currently a councillor in the Templemore Roscrea Local Electoral in the Thurles Templemore Municipal District.

Mr Coonan informed the Fine Gael Cumann that he thinks a new person with fresh ideas should be given the opportunity.

A number of other sitting councillors including Michael Fitzgerald, Ger Darcy, Seamus Hanafin and Hughie McGrath have announced they will not be candidates in the Local Elections Due to be held in June 2024 in conjunction with the European Parliament elections.
