All five of Tipperary County Council’s civic amenity sites are holding a Mattress Amnesty in the final week of July.  The measure is part of Tipperary County Council’s Anti-Dumping Initiative.  Civic Amenity sites in Donohill, Cashel, Roscrea, Nenagh, and Clonmel will accept up to three mattresses (from households only) free of charge during the Amnesty. The service is available from Tuesday 25th July – Thursday 27th July during normal opening hours. The five Civic Amenities operate between 9am and 4pm but close for lunch between 12.30pm and 1pm.

The usual fee to dispose of a mattress at the Civic Amenities is €18.00 for a single and €20.00 for double mattress.

There will also be five collection days for electrical items in the county in the coming weeks. Any batteries, bulbs, phones, cables or devices with a plug such as washing machines, fridges, televisions or laptops can be recycled free of charge by bringing the item to one of the collection days. All of the collection days will operate from 10am until 4pm.  Full details can be found at this link here.
