Tipperary People Before Profit branch is calling for radical action from the government.
The political party wants the introduction of price controls on energy, rents and mortgages interest rates and essential foods and a greater investment in public transport and renewable energy also it believes the ESB should be instructed to operate on a non-for-profit mandate.
The local branch believes these measures are needed to protect living standards on the face of inflation running at 9%.
Meanwhile a national protest is planned in response to the cost of living crisis in September.
The gathering is to be held on 24th of September ahead of the government’s budget three days later.
