Ireland Women’s Sevens Rugby Team Making History Qualifying For Olympic Games

Ireland women’s sevens Rugby team have made history by qualifying for the Olympic Games for the first time. The team defeated Fiji on a scoreline of 10  to 5 to secure the fourth automatic qualification spot for the  Paris Olympics next year.
Ireland join Australia, New Zealand, USA and hosts France as confirmed participants to date.
The side which is captained by Lucy Mulhall also features Tipperary player Aimee-Leigh Murphy Crowe who scored two tries in the win over Fiji.
The Olympic Rugby Sevens competition will run from 24-30 July 2024 at the Stade de France.
