Gardaí Remind Drivers To Lock Their Vehicles While Unattended

Gardaí in Clonmel and Fethard are currently investigating a number of recent incidents where unlocked cars were targeted by criminals.

On the evening of Thursday 5th January 2023 Gardaí received a report that a sum of money had been stolen from a parked car in the Barron Park Estate in Clonmel.

On the morning of Friday 6th Jan it was reported that two cars, parked at the front of a house in the Barron Park Estate in Clonmel, had been entered overnight and contents interfered with – there was also an incident from the evening of Friday 6th January 2023 where a sum of money was stolen from a parked car outside a house in Cooleens Close Estate in Clonmel.

Separately, Gardaí in Fethard are investigating an incident from Saturday 7th January 2023 where a number of items were stolen from a parked car outside a house at The Green Estate in Fethard.

The public are being strongly advised to lock parked or unattended vehicles at all times, day and night, and to avoid keeping any sums of money or other items of value in vehicles.
