An Bord Pleanála has refused permission for a new housing development at Coopers Lot in Cashel.

The application had been submitted under the Strategic Housing Development regulations and attracted 4 submissions.

The developer J Osoina Ltd had sought permission for 108 residential units and a childcare facility and an outdoor play area. An Bord Pleanála refused permission on number of grounds.

These were risks of flooding in the area or adjacent areas, the development would curtail development at the Cashel King Cormac’s GAA grounds and that the proposal contravened the Cashel and Environs Development Plan.

The submissions received were from Transport Infrastructure Ireland, Irish Water, Cllr Roger Kennedy – also objecting and the Cashel King Cormac’s GAA club.
