Liberty Square in Thurles is to host a two day free music festival over this weekend.

The two day event will see a stage set up at the bottom of Liberty Square and the Ulster Bank car park used as a fun fair area.

The Ulster Bank car park will be closed to the public from tonight until Sunday night.

The organisers say that no on street parking will be allowed from the old Elverys sports shop to Hayes Hotel on both sides of the road from Friday midnight to Sunday night after the concert.

The festival features Tribute bands on both days.

The performance begins at 3pm on Saturday until 10 pm and on Sunday the music runs from 1.30p to 10pm.

The event is led by local councillor Jim Ryan in collaboration with businesses on Liberty Square and is designed to bring business back into Liberty Square after the disruption of recent enhancement works and the pandemic restrictions.
