Plans for the family fun day in Tipperary Town are progressing well following a further community meeting on the topic which took place last night.

The event is scheduled to start at 12.30pm and run until 3.30pm and will take place at the Market Yard in Tipp Town.

The theme is a family fun day and will feature live music, a DJ, Irish music and dancing, displays from South East Mountain Rescue (SEMRA), the Scouts and Tipperary Fire and Rescue Service.

There will also be food offerings, a sensory area, a wide variety of experiences for children and a guest appearance by St. Patrick.

The organisers also intend to display the flag of Ukraine as a show of solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

The Tipperary Festival Event is led by Tipperary Town Chamber of Commerce.

A final planning meeting will be held next Wednesday at 7pm in the Porter House, and all are welcome to attend.

Elsewhere in county Tipperary, Roscrea have announced plans for a St. Patrick’s Day parade to commence at 3.30pm.

Littleton parade will take place at 10.30am, Cahir’s parade will kick off at 12.30pm while a parade in Carrick-on-Suir will start at 2pm.

Thurles has opted to hold a virtual event, while Cahel and Nenagh will hold a festival event similar to that in Tipperary Town.
