A book titled ‘The hay was saved, but… the Life and Times of a Tipperary Hurling Supporter 1974 – 1986’ launched in The Porter House, Tipperary Town.

The book is written by local man Tom Treacy and was officially launched by Con Hogan.

This book looks back to an era of Tipp hurling not remembered for All Ireland senior hurling or Munster senior hurling success between 1974 – 1986 despite the county having some legendary hurlers on the team. The period was famously referred to as “The Famine” by Richard Stakelum, Tipperary Captain when the county won the 1987 Munster Senior Hurling Title after an epic replay against Cork in Killarney.

The Book is available in Bookworm Thurles, Nenagh Book Store, Fitzpatrick’s Printers, O’Rahilly Sports shop, both in Tipperary town  Town and  O’Mahony’s bookshop in  Limerick City.
