County Tipperary is to receive almost one million euro in sports equipment funding according to Tipperary TD Michael Lowry. A total of 36 different clubs in the county will share a total of €986,471. The full list of recipients can be viewed at this link here.
The largest single allocation is €99,802 to Clonmel AC to provide equipment for the new Regional Athletics hub in Clonmel. Arra Rovers soccer club is allocated €70,000, Golden Grove Riding Club in Roscrea secured €60,000, Newport AC is to get €33,827 and Cahir Golf Club is awarded €40,000. Kilfeacle Rugby Club is allocated €20,305 to fund a new mower while Rosegreen GAA is allocated €29,495 for fitness equipment. Cashel New Inn Hockey club secured a sum just over €13,000 for non-personal sports equipment. Dundrum AC secured a sum of 10,000 for High Jump equipment. The Golden Vale Pony Club secured €6,000.
The Funding announcement has been welcomed by Deputy Lowry. Clubs who applied for ‘Capital’ or ‘Capital and Equipment’ grants will receive confirmation on their applications later this year.
