Shock After Tragic Passing Of Tipp Hurler Dillon Quirke

There is shock in the GAA family tonight after the tragic passing of Tipperary Hurler Dillon Quirke.

The Clonoulty Rossmore player passed away this evening after suddenly falling ill during a club match.

The Clonoulty Rossmore v Kilruane MacDonaghs match was abandoned.

The Tipperary CCC has decided to call off all games under its jurisdiction this weekend.

The Committee sends its deepest sympathy to the Quirke family and the people of Clonoulty Rossmore.

As a mark of respect Saturday Sports on Tipp Mid West Radio will not be covering GAA games tomorrow morning.

Tipp Mid-West Radio would like to pay our condolences to the Quirke family, friends and his fellow players.

Tipperary GAA extends its heartfelt and sincere sympathies to Dan, Hazel, Shannon, Kellie and the extended Quirke family. Also to the Clonoulty Rossmore GAA Club and his teammates on the sad and tragic passing of Clonoulty Rossmore and Tipperary hurler Dillon Quirke. Dillon became ill during Friday evenings County Senior Hurling Championship game between Clonoulty Rossmore and Kilruane MacDonaghs in Semple Stadium and was taken to Tipperary University Hospital in Clonmel where he passed away. Tipperary GAA wish to thank all those who attended to Dillon in Semple Stadium and in Tipperary University Hospital this evening.

As a mark of respect to Dillon, Tipperary GAA have called off all games due to take place in the County Hurling Championships this weekend.
