St. Mary’s Parish, Cahir Consider Allotment Scheme

756

In an effort to overcome the isolation and loneliness associated with the current pandemic, St. Mary’s Parish, Cahir, Co. Tipperary is considering setting up an allotment scheme for parishioners, and is prepared to make suitable ground available should there be sufficient interest for such a project.

The scheme would not be used to generate profit, according to the parish, but would rather be a project to generate goodwill and foster better communication in the difficult times at present. Cahir Tidy Towns have also been contacted, and are “very excited” by the allotment proposal, and are prepared to come on board as partners in the project.

If there is sufficient interest in the proposal, an investigation will be undertaken around the costs involved in such a project.

Those who would be interested, are asked to give their name and contact details to St. Mary’s Parish secretary by Monday, 24th November.

The parish office is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the secretary can also be contacted by email on: [email protected], or by phone on: 052-7441404
