A call has been made for the public to support local businesses that are providing an online service.

The appeal was made by Cllr Annemarie Ryan, who said that as well as those already operating an online service, many local traders are now developing their online presence due to the current social restrictions.

The Tipperary town councillor also revealed that she is compiling a database that will outline for the public all those local businesses that are now trading online, and has asked as many as possible to contact her so they can be included on that resource.

In highlighting her plans, Cllr Ryan acknowledged that when shopping online, many people automatically think of the better-known, international corporations.

She has appealed to people to think of their local businesses when shopping this way, to help ensure the survival of those enterprises by keeping online business local.
