Cash stolen during Tesco break-in

Gardaí are investigating a break-in at the Tesco supermarket in Tipperary town overnight.

It is understood that a fence at the rear of the premises was cut to gain access. The incident happened at 3.35 am this morning.

A sum of cash was taken, but the amount is as yet uncertain.

It is also not yet known how many were involved in the break-in, or in which direction they fled from the scene.

Gardaí are appealing to the public to report to them any suspicious activity that may have been witnessed in the area of the Limerick road last night to contact them on (062) 51212.

Two premises burgled in Oola

Meanwhile, a shop and a pharmacy in Oola were broken into earlier in the night, at around a quarter to one.

Only a small amount of cash was taken, but some damage was done.
