ESB Networks warns of scams in counties Tipperary and Limerick

2320

ESB Networks is aware that individuals are fraudulently calling to homes in areas of counties Tipperary and Limerick, claiming to be staff from the company.

ESB Networks has said that it is aware of some incidents where individuals are asking to assess trees on properties and subsequently stealing items.

Other incidents involve these people cutting trees and then requesting cash payment for the work.

All ESB Networks staff and contractors representing the company are required to carry and display their ESB Networks identification. ESB Networks never requests cash payments upfront for such work.

The company is asking residents in these areas to be vigilant when answering the door to people claiming to represent ESB Networks and to be wary of admitting anyone into their property if in any way uneasy.

Should anyone have any doubts about an individual’s identity, it is recommended that they contact their local Garda station immediately.
