Rape Crisis Midwest has announced that it has closed its centres in Nenagh and Ennis for the month of September due to recent cuts in government funding.

According to the organisation's Miriam Duffy, a €60,000 cut in government funding, means that the Rape Crisis Midwest has seen its funding target double to €120,000.

As a consequence, in order to reduce costs, staff members are being asked to take unpaid leave. this is resulting in the support organisation having to close the Nenagh and Ennis centres for September.

However services are being provided through the Limerick Branch, and anyone who need their help can still contact their helpline on 1800311511
