Property rates are almost 5% higher in rural areas than in urban locations. that's according to findings published by Social Justice Ireland.
The organisations National Social Monitor forecasts that in just over a decade the number of people in ireland who are over 85 have doubled.
This in turn Social Justice Ireland notes will result in greater demand for healthcare facilities and services.
It also notes that the number of unemployed has multiplied by a factor of five since the beginning of the economic crisis and advises that more focus be put on producing a fairer society.
The organisation further advises against a reliance on market forces.
