The Local Government Management Agency has revealed that over the weekend it has collected €2.7 million in payments of the Non Principle Private Residents Charge.
In the course of last week €14.7 million was collected.
However as the is no current database of properties liable to pay the charge the agency has no idea how much more money it has to collect.
Meanwhile people had untill the weekend to contact their Local Authority to make arrangements regarding the payment of the charge ahead of the imposition of further charges today which sees it rise to over €7,000 for someone who has not paid it since its introduction in 2009.
In total, the amount collected through the charge now stands at €443.2 million.
