Students across the county today received their leaving certificate results.
In total 57,000 students nationally were due to pick up their results, with more than two thousand awaiting their results in Co. Tipperary.
According to the principals of Tipperary town’s three schools, the results have continued to improve year-on-year.
The Abbey, St Anne’s and St. Albie’s have all acknowledged that the bonus points scheme introduced in recent times had worked as an incentive aimed at enticing students to opt for the higher level.
National Parents Council has also set up a helpline to assist concerned students or parents. Guidance counsellors will be available. The number is 1800 265 165.
