South Tipperary Development Company and other development companies across the country are calling on communities to support their call for the retention of the Leader programme.
The call is being made as the government prepares to change how the system operates by transferring the delivery of the Leader Programme to a newly established committee within each local authority area.
They claim that his will result in programmes such as Tus, The Rural Social Scheme, The Traveller Public Health Programme and others to come under threat.
As such community organisations are being asked to attend a rally which take place next Wednesday 9th July at Dail Eireann.
The rally will be addressed by MEPs Liadh Ni Riada and marian Harkin.
