Three cars are impacted by a road traffic incident on St Michael’s street, Tipperary town today.

No injuries are reported but the road is blocked at present as one vehicle came to stop across the road way.

The incident occurred just before 1pm today when it is thought that the car travelling towards Main Street suffered a tyre failure.

The vehicle then came into contact with a parked car and this vehicle may have subsequently moved to impact a second parked car.

It is understood that the driver(female) of the car with the tyre issue was the sole occupant of the vehicle and is uninjured.

The owners of the two other vehicles are on the scene speaking with Garda, a male and female had just parked their car before the incident while the owner of the second car was working close by and heard the loud impact as the collision occurred.

No ambulance was required at the scene.

Two Garda vehicles are on site at present and drivers are asked to avoid the section of St Michael Street between Main street and the Mitchell/Blind Street Junction.

Garda expect that the roadway will be fully re-opened later this afternoon.
